Note from Leadership: March 2026
This is an exciting time for the KC Blind All Stars! In the past year, we have grown our Board of
Directors, completed amazing projects for the Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB) and
have a strong projection for 2026.
This past Fall, we completed the Gym renovation at the school. Now, they have a beautiful
environment to move and exercise safely. A highlight in the new Gym is the new perimeter
system that is the first of its kind. The system allows students to put their canes down and safely
navigate around the perimeter of the Gym. There is also audio and visual equipment that will
allow for a new auditory experience in gym class, as well as for presentations and school
assemblies. We are thankful for our partners who made this project happen, including
SCHEELS who donated $200,000! Additional funders included Sunderland Foundation,
BlueCross BlueShield, and our community who participated in our Annual 5k Run.
This year, we have created a development team that is working hard to raise money for new
projects and ongoing programs we support at KSSB. We are so thankful for a wonderful
community that works together to support the amazing abilities of the students in Kansas who
are blind or visually impaired. Thank you to everyone who supports the KC Blind All Star
Foundation as we continue to do all we can to provide the best future for these students!
